African Reading to Learn conference Educators from across South Africa and East Africa attended the Reading to Learn conference in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, 28-30 August. Speakers included Mike Hart, R2L Director for South Africa, Claire Acevedo, R2L Director for Europe, and leaders of the Aga Khan Foundation program in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
R2L schools top NAPLAN results two years running Greenslopes State School and Kenmore State School in Brisbane have both instituted whole school R2L programs, with well organised teacher support. Greenslopes topped state and national NAPLAN results in 2014, and Kenmore in 2015. Register your interest here
