Reading to Learn (R2L) is a powerful methodology for embedding literacy learning in curriculum teaching. It has been repeatedly proven to accelerate the learning of all students at double standard rates, and for weaker students at 4 times standard rates, closing the gap in any class. R2L strategies enable secondary teachers to cover their curriculum content, at the same time as teaching skills in reading and writing to make all students successful, independent learners.
